International
- Individual/Family Cover
Unlike the UK where private health insurance offers choice and supplements NHS care, in many countries limited (if any) reciprocal health arrangements exist so arranging suitable international cover is vital.
Whether you are living abroad permanently or just for a few months each year we can assist with:
- Information on local health facilities
- Advice on difference scheme types and selection of appropriate cover
- Regular review of costs and benefits to ensure your scheme remains as competitive as possible
- Ongoing advice and assistance
Costs are based on :
- age
- area
- level of cover required
- any self insurance/excess level. (Most plans have a compulsory excess of £50 to reduce administration overheads and hence subscription costs.
Typical Scheme Types:
a) Basic - Benefits principally concentrated on hospital treatment of serious conditions. May also include emergency evacuation. Suitable for person who intends to pay all routine costs personally but wishes to be covered against occasional high cost episodes.
b) Standard - Covers a wide range of care including Primary care (GP), tests, physiotherapy as well as hospital treatment and follow up care. The most popular choice.
c) Premier - Extends the standard terms to include preventative health checks, immunisations, dental treatment and maternity care. Most usually purchased by companies for executives on secondment abroad.
IMPORTANT TIP!!
When considering an international plan think about whether you are likely to return to the UK in the future as not all providers will transfer to a UK plan which is very important if you have developed a long term or ongoing medical problem whilst abroad.
