All change at the top

It is all change for The Private Health Partnership (PHP) as a new leader takes the helm.  After 22 years of leading the business; initially with just two members of staff from a small office in West Yorkshire to a successful business with over 70 members of staff with offices both in Yorkshire and Hove – Jan Lawson has moved to a more Group role and will oversee the operations of all three of the group's businesses, PHP, RED ARC Assured and Medical Care Direct.

Taking the step from Sales and Marketing Director, PHP’s new Managing Director will be Stuart Scullion.   At the business since 2007, Stuart has over 16 years' experience within the industry.

Commenting on his appointment Stuart said:

"I am delighted to be taking over as Managing Director of PHP.  This is a fantastic business, absolutely committed to ensuring its clients receive the best advice for their personal circumstances, combined with the highest levels of service. Looking after our clients, ensuring they are treated fairly at all times, will be the key to our success. Whilst I know the next 12 months hold many challenges, not least because of the current financial climate, I am convinced the business has experienced and committed staff who will rise to meet the challenges".

IPT - there’s no easy answer

Many of you will be aware of the recent increase in Insurance Premium Tax; the rate increased from 5% to 6% on 4th January 2011.   Whilst the increase will impact us all, different insurers have taken differing interpretations on how to deal with this, meaning the effect on your premiums will be different depending on where your business is placed.

Some insurers have chosen to absorb the cost, some are not passing on the rise for a few months, and others made the change from the 4th January.   You Account Manager will discuss how this affects you in the coming months, but in the meantime if you have any concerns over how this may impact you or your business, please don’t hesitate to contact your Account Manager on 01274 588862

Best of Breed

The last few years have seen access to NHS dentists diminishing, workplace stress levels rising and larger excesses being taken on PMI policies as the country tries to cope with recession.  We understand that in turbulent times there is an increased focus on the balance sheet and bank balance, but we have also found that many don’t necessarily want this to be at the expense of health and wellbeing benefits.
With this in mind we have researched the market to bring you what we feel are the health and wellbeing products that offer you the best value in terms cost and benefits levels – PHP’s Best of Breed.

All of these products contain features that you are unable to access anywhere else, and have been developed ith our clients in mind.  For example our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers day one intervention for stress-related absence, an exclusive benefit providing the first proactive intervention within an EAP to manage absence as a result of stress.
"94.7% of employees return to work within 14 days following engagement with Health Assured".

Provided through Health Assured, this includes enhanced employee support with counselling services and occupational health nurses and support for HR to discuss return to work plans and reasonable adjustments.   Our Cash Plan can also be used to cover excesses taken on PMI schemes, and can be used immediately following purchase, avoiding the common 13 week waiting time.

These are just two examples of a number of products that could be used to complement or in addition to your current health and wellbeing cover.  For more information about our Best of Breed products and our health related services please contact Suzanne Blake on 01274 588862 or suzanne.blake@php.co.uk
